Title: Whose Life Are You Living?   Send to a Friend
Date: 09/12/2012

Friends,

Welcome to another addition of Women of Wisdom's (W.O.W) e-letter! W.O.W's mission is to encourage you to live the divine purpose for your life! Expect to see a W.O.W. e-letter monthly and be sure to pass them on to your friends.

I received an anonymous letter the other day that shared the stuggle many of us experience as we live this life.  The writer said it this way:

"These past few weeks, a question keeps running through my mind, ''Whose life are you living?"  To be honest, I''m not really sure.  I''ve never had a master plan for my life, I''ve always just gone with the flow.  Mini goals - yes.  Master plan - no.  So why do I feel recently that I''m not living the life I was intended for?  Some would say ''You have a good life!''  And they would be right.  But is it the best life I can live?  I think not.  Lately I feel like I am watching life pass me by.  Not really actively participating but just doing enough to convince everyone and myself that I''m engaged.  But I''m not.  Things that use to come easily to me are now so difficult.  It''s like I''m moving in molasses and even though my ''"want to" is great, my "will to" is all clogged up.  Leaving me to sit on the sidelines chained to the bench while others that I started with move further and further away.  I see them accomplishing their dreams and a part of me wants to feel envy but I can''t because I have no one to blame but me.  Who will rescue me from this life I''m living?"

I have a feeling that is a question many would like the answer to.  It would be great if the Nike ad worked all the time - "Just Do It!"  But many times in life, we can repeat that mantra a hundred times and may even see ouselves moving forward a step or two, only to find ourselves back in reverse once again.  What is the lasting solution?  What can keep us moving forward on the path of life even when the way is difficult, the distance is long and we''re not even sure if we are on the right road or going in the right direction?

Psalm 130 gives us a clue: "Out of the depths I cry to you oh Lord! Hear my voice! Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my pleas for mercy...I wait for the Lord, my soul waits and in His word I hope..."

And what has He said that brings us hope when we are weary and the way seems bleak?  I turn to the scripture that has been my salvation at such a time as these:

"I lift my eyes toward the mountains.  Where will my help come from?  My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.  He will not allow your foot to slip; your Protector will not slumber.  Indeed, the Protector of Israel does not slumber or sleep.  The Lord protects you; the Lord is a shelter right by your side.  The sun will not strike you by day or the moon by night.  The Lord will protect you from all harm; He will protect your life.  The Lord will protect your coming and going both now and forever."  (Psalm 121 HCSB)

So the question is "Whose life are you living and where are you placing your hope?"  If it is a life you have planned and controlled yourself,  you will find that "self" cannot always go the distance.  But if you are choosing to place your hope in the One who created you, then know that the way may not always be easy but it will always be certain.  Not trusting in the path you are on but in the One who guides and leads through all life''s paths when our faith is placed completely in Him.

Be Blessed!
